Cruise ships in Progreso: November arrival days

November brings 14 cruise calls to the port of Progreso, from Thursday 5 to Saturday 28. The ships dock between 8 and 10 in the morning and sail between 4 in the afternoon and 9 at night, so on those days the malecón fills with visitors.

What is happening

The November calendar brings 14 cruise calls to the port of Progreso, counting from Thursday 5. Two public ship-call calendars agree on the total. The ships that repeat most are the Carnival Valor and the Carnival Breeze, from the Carnival line, along with the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, the Disney Magic, the MSC Explora 1 and the Seven Seas Splendor.

For context, Por Esto reported on 21 October that the port has received 125 cruise ships and 402,461 people so far in 2026. Diario de Yucatán had counted 173 calls scheduled for the whole year, with about 484,000 passengers expected. November and December are the final stretch of that count.

An honest note: those calendars come from third parties, not from the port authority's official calendar. Cruise lines can change or cancel a stop, especially when the weather turns difficult. And one ship, the MSC Explora 1, shows up in one of the calendars I checked, but I could not confirm it in the second. If you are planning something important around a ship, confirm the date with the port first.

The November dates

These are the scheduled calls: Thursday 5, Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11, Thursday 12, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18, Thursday 19, Monday 23, Tuesday 24, Thursday 26, Friday 27 and Saturday 28. That is 14 calls spread over 12 days, because two of those days bring two ships at once.

On Thursday 19 the MSC Explora 1 and the Carnival Breeze arrive. On Monday 23 the Margaritaville at Sea Islander and the Disney Magic arrive. Those are the busiest days of the month. If you want a calmer malecón, look for the days with no ship, such as Monday 9, Sunday 15 or Sunday 29.

According to CruiseMapper, the Carnival Valor and the Islander dock at 8 in the morning and sail at 4 in the afternoon. The Carnival Breeze arrives at 9 and leaves at 5. The Disney Magic arrives at 10 on Monday 23 and at 8 on Friday 27. The MSC Explora 1 stays longer, from 9 in the morning to 9 at night. And the Seven Seas Splendor, on Saturday 28, arrives at 10 in the morning and leaves at 6 in the evening.

One note on rhythm: November follows the coast's pattern, with many Thursdays and Tuesdays, but this month adds Wednesdays, a Monday, a Friday and a Saturday. It does not all land on the usual days.

What it means if you live here

On a cruise day, the malecón and the streets near the pier fill up from mid-morning. Last year, Por Esto described the malecón with more than two thousand tourists during the Disney Magic stop on 27 November. This year the Disney Magic returns twice, on Monday 23 and Friday 27.

You notice it in traffic, in the places to eat, and in the pace of shops and boat rides. If you work or get around the center of Progreso, expect more people on foot between 10 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. If you run a small food or handicraft business, it is the week to be ready.

There is a quiet side too. When the ship sails, the port goes back to its usual pace and the afternoon is free. Many locals use that hour to walk the malecón with the low sun, when the lines and the crowds are gone.

How to plan your day

Check the ship day before you head out. If you want a quiet breakfast on the malecón, arrive before 9 in the morning, when passengers are only starting to disembark. If you would rather avoid the crowd, go after 4 in the afternoon or pick a day with no ship.

To see the ship itself, the best time is the arrival, between 8 and 10 in the morning, and the departure, between 4 and 6 in the afternoon for most calls. From the malecón you can watch the maneuver and, in afternoon light, the ship's silhouette against the sea.

And remember that calendars change. The safest source is the port authority and the notices from the Ayuntamiento de Progreso. If you want to follow what happens on the coast, the Progreso page of this site has more stories like this one.
